'For his second Intransitive album, Lionel Marchetti returns to his favorite subject: the modern musique concrete composer as shaman. Amid an atmosphere of heavy mystery and sublime confusion, "Hatali Atsalei (L’Echange des Yeux)" seems to be informed by radio drama, improvisation, and documentary recording. According to Olivier Capparos’ liner notes, the album provides a “rather faithful“ experience of Ancient Greek ritual: Hatali Atseli, the exchange of eyes. Is it real? Does it matter? Marchetti the sonic alchemist takes the listener to the scene of an imaginary sacred rite, drawing us in with hints of narrative, only to throw expectations aside with the slice of razor on tape. Fire, water, and wind instruments are blended with the voice and percussion of collaborator Seijiro Murayama to create something which is not quite a representation of ritual, but is a ritual itself which becomes completed by the act of listening.'
