'“Mannaka is a romanised transliteration of a Japanese term, the meaning of which can be rendered as 'the absolute center'. The name of this record is not meant to serve as a statement of fact, but rather to allude to an incremental and continuous process of self-questioning. Sound, unadulterated and organic, naturally leads me towards foreign territories, leading me step by step into labyrinthine tunnels, disclosing submerged and occult spaces which open up before me as I advance.
Sound becomes a lasso and a noose enticing you onwards, lying on the pitch black surface of possibility as it pulses in transition, unfolding one transformation after another. It discloses unforeseen vistas and dredges up impressions buried in the depths, opening paths towards once-vast fields, with mulberry trees growing beyond its edges. And then, in the heart of that bamboo clearing, the heat of the sun and the shadows of the shade coexist. For those of us who voyage forth upon the seas, our hearts and minds are not involuntary. The seismic currents of meaning and signification operate according to singular laws, and much of the information concerning life in abyss continues to elude our comprehension, awaiting discovery.
