V.A. : Words Of Advice

'Point Of View is proud to present “Words of Advice,” a compilation that crosses over two Mexican scenes that have been constantly evolving for years, surviving through self-managed efforts: the world of poetry and the universe of noise music.
The idea for “Words of Advice” emerged in early 2020 with the intention of creating a compilation that would bring both scenes to life. With the arrival of the pandemic, the importance of working remotely with the artists involved in this project became even more apparent. Therefore, we returned to mail art, one of the traditional processes of Fluxus. This initiative brings together 12 Mexican artists: six poets and six noise artists/musicians. They worked under the following process: the poets were asked to record an audio version of one of their texts, which was then sent to the noise artists so they could develop the synergy between noise and voice. This dynamic gave rise to six collaborative pieces that exemplify the perceptual and creative diversity of artists from different parts of the country.
The result is a beautiful 12-inch clear vinyl edition released by Subliminal Kid, a Mexican label focused on promoting experimental artists from the country. The record was conceived as the next step in Point Of View's ongoing collaboration with the music world, both through publishing and radio. Now, we've poured all our effort into producing a physical format that revalues ​​the importance of the tangible archive in the ephemeral digital age. Thus, Words of Advice serves as a living document of the encounter between these two movements.
The album was mastered by Alex Eisenring (Syntoma, El Escuadrón Del Ritmo, Queso Sagrado, Decibel), a pillar of the Mexican electronic underground. Words of Advice was pressed in Mexico City in an edition of 100 numbered copies. We are pleased to present a 100% Mexican production.'
