'The New Blockaders ‘Succes De Scandale’ CD reissue (Edition of 200) Part I includes excerpts from a (previously unreleased)performance at Morden Tower (1984) Excerpt from sleevenotes(same as the original cassette) by Toshiji Mikawa: ’…The title ‘Succes De Scandale’ refers to, ‘the success of art due to its scandalous nature rather than its artistic value.’ What, I wonder, is the intention behind such a title? If TNB’s live performance represents the scandalous nature of destruction rather than an artistic value of the ‘music’ then such a title is masochistically ironic. 'Succes De Scandale' reminds me of TNB’s early works and is proof that TNB have not changed their original nihilistic stance as outlined in their manifesto of 1982. Although it is a shame that 'Succes De Scandale' is limited to only 100 copies, hopefully all who are lucky enough to hear it will enjoy the unmistakable uniqueness of TNB's sound.’'
