「『Music and words 2』は、ボーマンの初期作品のアーカイブ資料シリーズの第2弾として、長らく待たれていた作品集です。第1巻と同様に、このCDも彼の作品の2つの異なる領域に分かれています。アダムはおそらく、楽器やオブジェを演奏する即興演奏家として最もよく知られていますが、この音楽では、こうした純粋な即興演奏の手法はほとんど使われていません。このCDの音楽セクションは、ステレオと4トラックのカセットレコーダーで録音された、独特なローファイソングと短いコラージュ作品、その他の実験で構成されています。これらの作品のほとんどは80年代初頭のものですが、最も古い録音は1977年のものです。
このCDのスポークンワードセクションは、サウスエンドへの旅行、ヴィースバーデンでのコンサートシリーズ、ロンドンでの1日の生活という3つのトーキングテープからの抜粋を中心に構成されています。アダムをある程度長く知っている人なら、彼が自分の観察を小型のポータブルカセットレコーダーに頻繁に録音していることを知っているでしょう。これらは、世界中の友人や音楽仲間のために録音されることが多いのです。音楽作品と同様に、これらのカセットテープも非常に少量しか存在せず、多くの場合、1枚しか存在しない。 これら2種類の録音素材には明らかな違いがあるものの、 28曲
