Luis-Maria SERRA (Argentine)
Born in Buenos Aires, in 1942. Licensed in musical composition in the Faculty of Arts and Musical Sciences of the Catholic University / Argentina. Among his teachers Alberto Ginastera, Roberto Caamano, Gerardo Gandini and Roberto Locatelli. Studied direction and choral with Jesus Segade. Scholarship from 1968 to 1969 : Institute of High Musical Studies, Torcuato Di Tella. Scholarship from 1969 to 1970 : from the French Government and the Association Wagneriana of Buenos Aires, to study in "Service de la Recherche de l'ORTF" and in the Conservatoire National de Musique de Paris, with Pierre Schaeffer. Teacher in several Convervatories and Universities. Radio producer at the Municipal Radio of Buenos Aires. Vice-president of the Federacion Argentina de Musica Electroacustica (FARME), Director of the Atelier de Realizaciones Technical Electroacusticas (ARTE 11). Was member of the Commission of Jingles and movies of the S.A.D.A.I.C. Electroacoustic technology teacher at the Faculty of Arts and Musical Sciences, the Catholic University and the Conservatory Nac, Lopez Buchardo. Realized works for instruments, choirs, orchestra and composed electroacoustic works as well. Member of the composer's college of IMEB. He is also well known for music he has done for theatre and movies. Presently, teacher of sound diffusion and musicalisation of the image at the Lanus' National University. His works have been played in concerts and festivals in Latin America and Europe.
